The seahawks here are skilled at swooping down and grabbing food from unsuspecting kids and adults alike. They hang out by the sea, so at the parks, get under cover while eating, or hide the food between bites. I've heard tales about this, and then our friends were outside Daiei (the mall near main gate with food store, and bakeries) and voomp, the cream filled pastry was gone! So it really does happen.
We were at the park, and these people were tossing food to the hawks. I don't recommend doing this. But, you get the idea.
